Frequently Asked Questions

Courier Services

  • A courier service is a delivery service; concepts are similar to shipping service. But all deliveries are assigned to a personal driver to ensure your package is delivered on time with minimum delays and handled safely to its destination; without being bumped around during the delivery process.

  • Couriers fill the need to deliver packages where shipping just doesn’t cut it. Some examples would be when a delivery needs to be completed quickly or on the same day. Others include when a package is too large to be shipped but still needs to be delivered quickly. Some deliveries are also too valuable to leave to a standard shipping provider. A courier and same-day delivery service fill those needs by picking up at point A and driving to point B, ensuring all safety measures are taken, and arriving within a determined time.

  • Costs for our courier and delivery services will vary based upon the size and weight of the item, what type of vehicle you require, how quickly you need the item delivered and the distance from your pick-up point and delivery point. Contact us or use our online request form for an accurate quote.

  • We offer a comprehensive list of courier delivery services, starting from Bullet and Direct; Which are delivered within 60 to 90 minutes. Rush deliveries are assigned to drivers passing the requested route, usually delivered within 3 hours. • At Little Guys Delivery Service, we strive to meet customer satisfaction. • Yes, all Little Guys drivers have all properly licensed and insured. They must pass a background security check and obtain certification.

  • We primarily run 24’ trailers, but also have some 26’ and 28’ for smaller loads. And we also offer Vans and Cargo vehicles.

  • If the freight is too tall or too wide to fit into a 53’ dry van, then a flatbed trailer is often a great option.

  • A fully loaded typical 53’ trailer with freight that has been palletized and single stacked can be unloaded in roughly 30 minutes. If the pallets are double stacked then it can take an hour. Freight that is not palletized and loosely packed can take 3-4 hours to unload depending on the weight, quantity, and ease of handling.

  • Drivers can at times help unload at the customer’s request, but there is an additional fee.

  • Yes, we can deliver freight when it’s snowing. All of our trucks are equipped with traction devices so that we can make our deliveries when the weather changes.

  • Yes, we can do both depending on the equipment being used.

  • Less than truckload (LTL) refers to shipping goods that don’t require an entire truck. We offer dedicated line hauls for LTL or combined shipments to give you lower rates and faster delivery times.

A full truckload (FTL) refers to shipments that need an entire truck’s capacity. We can directly transport large loads with our FTL services if your shipment is big enough to fill a trailer.

  • A full truckload is determined by both weight and volume.

  • We don’t limit ourselves to any one specific industry. We are a very flexible warehouse and are open to offering our services to almost any industry.

  • Warehouse rates are determined by the warehouse footprint of the product, how quickly the product will be moving in and out of the warehouse, and any specific handling and shipping requirements required of an individual product. We believe that there is no one price-fits-all when it comes to warehousing products, and we will structure our pricing to be competitive and meet the needs of our customers. • All inventory levels are monitored in our Warehouse Management System (WMS). Customers are provided a login to our system to allow them the ability to monitor their inventory levels in real-time, 24/7, 365 days a year.

  • All of our safe warehouses are equipped with the highest level of security for your goods, including: 24/7 state-of-the-art video monitoring with 30+ day retention, cell connected security systems, as well as patrolled yards.

  • We offers a variety of warehousing services, including pick-and-pack. Although our large warehouse stores an incredible amount of products, our cutting-edge warehouse management systems allows us to pick and pack items with great efficiency and accuracy.

  • We are responsible for insuring our own facility and operations. However, the customer is responsible for insuring any good they may have stored inside our warehouse.

  • The cross-docking process begins with receiving the incoming freight from one or multiple shipments. The cargo is then sorted and segregated per customer requirements. The product is then loaded out onto one or multiple shipments per the customer’s specifications.

  • Transloading can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 5 hours, depending on how the product is received and the services our customer is looking for. If the product arrives palletized or in crates, then the process is usually very quick. However, if the product comes loose and needs to be individually unloaded, sorted and segregated and palletized for shipment, it can often take hours.

  • If a pallet is damaged upon receiving and there is a potential claim, a picture of the pallet is taken and immediately sent to the customer for review. The customer then advises the warehouse to continue receiving or to hold the product in quarantine to allow further review.

  • We perform an immediate inquiry on receipts to and from the customer associated with the sku(s) in question. This inquiry will often times include discussions with the customer. For all customers we have an agreed upon SLA in place to protect both the warehouse and the owner of goods, which allows a very small variance discrepancy in which both parties understand and can recoup any financial loss when a loss occurs.
